Mount Olivet up to Brentwood is too much of a climb for a lot of younger kids.

There are a few different route options available for a ride like this depending on how much support we have. For example, in May 2024 we went through Dave Thomas Circle on Florida to Eckington.

Definitely one of the more exciting routes for #bikeDC 😀

Technically it's a military installation, right? That could complicate any dreams he'd have. (It would also be a little bit on the small size for the type of golf course that he would want to build.)

Even in his first term, I don't think he went there very often. Besides, it only has a driving range and a single par three hole. What would he do while he's there???

I can't help but think that a number of the issues making it hard to get around DC this week would've been addressed with the "alternate side parking" rules I grew up with in Milwaukee. Makes snow removal easier. Granted, DC has way too many (unnecessary?) cars for people to stomach that approach.

We've done staycations before out in Tyson's as a family - the Hyatt Regency was "fine" last time we were there a few years ago, but more importantly Metro adjacent. Went to the movies, walked around the mall, used the hotel pool. Nothing we normally do in DC... :)

Yep. The intersection at 4th/Harewood/Michigan is a disaster, and it looked like they were stuck at Warder when I came through, but they've made great progress this afternoon/evening.
