So, it's looking like the Trump administration will cause a lot of damage to many institutions. Assuming this does not improve material conditions for people, and a strong Leftist leader can win the next election, how long will it take to undo?

I think a strong populist message with grassroots funding could absolutely win, but I'd settle for a strong commitment to end Citizens United legislatively
