Another year, but new location. It was also good to shoot with Marika again. Last time was back in March last year, as part of the my RED project (yeah, it's still under development - final set of shooting this year before I put everything together)

Your new "Collapse" project seems a great idea. Can't wait to see how that develops.

I used to use Squarespace, for convenience reasons. However, the constant price increases pushed me over the edge to creating my own site (I'm a software dev, so have a rough idea)

We couldn't do a full nostalgia shoot as Erina no longer models, so instead we had a shoot with Sayaka instead. Seeing that I had to cancel a Sayaka shoot earlier in the year due to illness, good to catch up before the year ended.

The last (Ikebukuro tower mansion) shoot!

It seemed somewhat fitting that Mami was doing HMU activities, just like the first time I shot there back in June 2018! Also, it was nice to catch up with Mami, as we've not shot together for just over two years.

But, I also have long term "project", and I may invite the model into the project based on their style, views etc.

Longer term projects aren't pure art nude, but can contain nude shots in them. Other shots may be "implied" or not nude at all.

So, I generally have flexibility on model choice.

I'll approach this both an "art nude" and a "creative portrait" angle because I'll vary between nude and not-nude shoots.
First thing, with a new model, just a casual shoot. It's an opportunity to get to know the person, for them to know me.
Later on, I may come up with a single shoot theme.

As I mentioned in previous posts, from next year, one of our long standing studios spaces stops being available.

So, we shot with Ayaka, a model I've been shooting with one-off over the last couple of years.

Friend of mine has read the books. They confirmed that there is a change from mid season 3 onwards (whichever point it is in the books, they don't precisely line up).

It's been some years now, maybe I'll revisit 4-6. Does mean getting Amazon Prime though, yuck

I've only seen seasons 1-3 (via Purchase on iTunes, rather than Amazon).
Season 1 and 2 are fantastic. I thought season 3 was OK but the magic was gone for me.
So, I've not attempted to watch the 4-6. Turns out end of Season 3 was a convenient stopping off point.

From January 2025, the space will no longer be available. Of course, I'll be continuing my collaboration and friendship with Mutz, but the shooting spaces will change up a bit. But, it's been a great 6 and a half years.
Shoot 1 of my final 3 shoots.

December 2024, an era comes to an end. Since I switched from "street photography" to "portrait", Mutz's studio space in Ikebukuro has been a fun place to socialize with fellow photographers, make connections with models and other creative souls.

I get where you are coming from. Signed up this morning, an did a search for "portrait photography". Immediate feeling was meh.

I'm taking the approach of slowly exploring, and if things don't work out, never mind.

Your post over at Threads is what finally triggered me to create an account here.
I'm, certainly not going to be a prolific poster here, but I never was on threads too.
It's more about freedom of expression.
