The 2025 elections heading for delayed runoffs - FairVote In several of this year's elections, voters will return to the polls for delayed runoffs because no candidate earned a majority of the vote.

Today, voters in Albuquerque, NM & Miami, FL are voting in delayed runoffs – over a month after Election Day.

Albuquerque's runoffs will cost taxpayers up to $1.6 million.

Ranked choice voting outperforms the winner-take-all system used to elect nearly every US politician Ranked choice voting largely avoids the pitfalls of plurality voting, giving voters the power to express their true candidate preferences rather than being strategic.

🧮 The math is clear. Winner take all elections can pick candidates most voters did not want. They are up to fifteen times more likely to create spoilers and about fifty percent more likely to elect extreme outcomes. RCV finds real majority support.
