My point to you was without Directors and players there is no club to support. It is two way,not one way. The idea that the club would continue if no one in charge is as absurd as the club continuing without fans. Both are needed to have a club.

Actually individual Directors and players will go, happens all the time, but they get replaced so that there is someone to run the club for the fans. The idea of separation is not real as there will always be a need for Directors and players to have a club to watch and support.

When we get down to it the players get blamed for not reaching supporters expectations with no regard to ability to attract and afford players of desired quality. So the club get the blame for some supporters being unhappy.

The difference is made with profit from merchandising that supporters buy, sponsorship money that companies pay and broadcasting revenue and player trading.

The supporters pay the club to pay the player using what supporters pay the club towards the cost.
