The main categories can still be male and female, rather than weirdly vague numeric terms. The change was made long enough ago that it’s clear they’re in no hurry to add extra customisation to justify it either, pretty safe to say that wasn’t why they did it

Because they're the exact same thing. All farms kill male chicks, as well as the hens when they get to about 18 months of age. The hens on ~local farms~ also still experience severe pain and deformity from being bred to grow extremely quickly

We remove the natural and morally neutral reality of predators, instead fucking with chickens' genetics so much that they're unable to even walk properly because of how rapidly they grow. Many rescued hens still die because of the strain their bodies are put under; it's abhorrent

there are certainly not millions of roosters a day being born in the wild though, we are artificially breeding an insane number of them into death and suffering which is completely needless

Do the local farms have an equal number of roosters? Do they let all the hens live out their entire lifespans even when they’re no longer producing eggs? Local farms do the same shit as factories
