Yes Wicked has it's issues outside of all that but honestly having a plodding second act is pretty much by the book musical theatre to me too

Any piece of media with no messiness is just not fun for me

I'll leave it at Wicked is a perfect musical that hits every musical beat and is so perfectly structured so perfect perfect and I find that so intrinsically boring

I have so many opinions on Wicked as a musical that the movie coming out is really setting me off LMAOOOO

Maybe I should watch the pro shot of Lazarus but Ivo van Hove gets under my skin

Like in this production they gave Bowie records they play, and they're all dressed up as different 60s and 70s era Bowies

Thomas Newton being essentially a Bowie character/era despite the fact he wasn't even created by Bowie is so intriguing

I just never understood what was happening in the Man Who Fell to Earth, I just liked the vibes, and same to this musical , great vibes

the BAND SOUNDED AMAZING IT WAS INSANE

just saw Lazarus (the musical) and while it was in German, I don't think having it in English would've helped me understand wtf was going on

I'd genuinely put Matilda on there but if I think about it too much I'd get a headache

Hamilton is probably on there too but hey I'm indecisive

The list is tentative but these are the ones I'm thinking of: Fun Home, Great Comet, Legally Blonde lmaooo

I think a couple years down the line I can properly think about it, but I would wager that Benjamin Button might be on the list of best musicals of the 21st century? It's a silly thing to say but it's only 5 years old and only just hit the West End, so it'll be nice to see further down the line

I'm sorry, these concerts just really make me so mad lmaoo

Also these tickets go on seat filling sites etc so often that I can't imagine anyone paying whatever extortionate prices they're probably charging

I understand that they serve to see if there's interest in these shows, but I think we're kinda over it now? They all seem to do meh seats wise, but we're now used to how cheap they are that who cares anymore

these concert productions mannnnn, if they were given time to properly tech and rehearse them then sure fine but we know the realities of these concerts

Maybe I have too much of a specific and unchanging opinion of the monarchy, but to me they represent a lot of values that should have been left behind centuries ago

I genuinely get so confused when I see some cool looking vintage style influencer (usually with a #VintageClothesNotVintageValues hashtag) who is a Royalist

or even worse, I haven't even seen a piece of media, but I still like everything surrounding it (the Barbie movie is what I'm thinking of)

I have a lot of media that I don't really like BUT I enjoy either the fandom, or what that media represents etc etc

BUTTTT I LOVE how much of a dedicated audience Wicked has, and how dedicated to education the (at least West End) production is to schools etc

i also just in general don't LOVE Wicked as a show, it's musical theatre distilled in it's purest form (which should be for me), but I find it a little bit TOO musical theatre lmao, just structurally and musically - (coming from the man who loves phantom lmao)
