HS sports creates a breeding ground for toxic masculinity. Marry that w/ a deep-seated self-loathing for their sexuality & you have the impetus for disaster. This is perpetuated in schools throughout this country, hidden behind the roaring cheers in stadiums. It’s institutional, and it’s a shame.
