Yesterday I Learned: at least one router-embedded DHCP server sends responses to the originator's MAC address instead of the last-hop address, which makes proxying DHCP through a subnet gateway unnecessarily complicated.

A reminder after hours of examining hexdumps: if you have a supposedly-pure function which only works in exactly one location in the code, make sure you aren't accidentally reading past the end of a stack-allocated buffer and picking up a few bonus parameters you didn't know about....

Use your thumb as a pointer to count finger segments. That gives you up to 12 positions, plus a zero, on each hand. Treat each hand as a digit in a two-digit number. If you choose to just count up to 9 on each hand, that gets you 0-100. Using all 13 positions would get you to 169.
