Regular hexagons are easy, 'cause they're made out of equilateral triangles. So D is just 2a, R = a, r = sqrt(3)a/2, and the area is just 6 triangles (1/2*r*a), so A = (3/2)sqrt(3)a^2. Other polygons are trickier....
