A character without flaws is not a character at all, it’s a ficade. There is no plot, no problems, if the characters are desirably “good” and “ethical”people. And people don’t find them relatable regardless of how (conscious or progressive) someone believes they are.

Maturing is realizing that these shows and films are fictional. There were creatives who sat in a room and pulled a ribbon of ideas out of their minds and manipulated it until it became a bow clean enough for someone to want to send to market.

And this is coming for someone who enjoyed the series, but I think they made all the right choices for Charlotte’s storyline over the series- marriage, motherhood, friendship, career revival, social life, etc. and I like how SJP has portrayed Carrie as a friend alongside Charlotte’s journey.

Now that I think about it- the AJLT series should’ve been Charlotte’s POV of mature life & womanhood like how SATC was Carrie’s POV on dating & sex.
