I was at that match! Definitely a rotated squad as you’d expect from Moriyasu. Defense was shaky, but Osako is well worthy of a #2 keeper.

Basically a complete rotation for Japan, with even Yuto Nagatomo getting a start.

The only potential WC starters in this XI are Junya Ito and Daizen Maeda, but it will be a good opportunity for all of these fringe players to account for themselves against a highly motivated USMNT.
