Experiencing an interview like this with someone who can create a kind, supportive environment and who can figure out when and how to prompt people before they go too far down the wrong path is always so impressive to me. I really admire the folks who do it well.

This is my preferred way to interview/be interviewed but I do feel like not a lot of interviewers have the skills required to do it well (or maybe we don't invest enough in training these skills enough). There's a lot of teaching and emotional intelligence required.

Peering into the dishwasher as if it is an ancient mystic cave that will reveal its secrets to me every time something weird happens with it is def my go to.

When I was very young and had only read it in books, I pronounced it "awnt".

At some point, my mom corrected me and told me it was pronounced "ant" (which seems to be more common where I'm from).

So now I mostly use "ant" but sometimes "awnt" for no reason I can figure out 😅

Tabs can be better for accessibility too! My vision kinda sucks and I do better with bigger indents and I (and other folks with different vision needs) can customize the tab width.
