The new MacBook Air is something to consider, if the Neo is a bust. I was peeping that last night as I was learning about the Neo.

My Grandma read the paper & magazines (we had a Jet subscription lol).

Reading magazines is my favorite thing to do. I loved the teen mags I grew up reading.

Reading was a natural pastime for them @ our elders. They understood deeply the power of reading. Glad they showed us the way. 💜

The wild part - many of our elders had less formal education (and access to it) than we do, but still read steadfastly.

All of the elders I knew read something - books, the newspaper, magazines, etc. How we don't see the importance of doing what we can to keep the mind sharp is beyond me.

I know a lot of folks are complaining about there only being 8G RAM, which is valid.

But... I'm curious to see how it actually plays for everyday use vs the heavy duty stuff (like video editing, graphics, etc.).

If I can find an alternative to buying an MacBook Air right now, this could be it.

Techie folks -

I'm considering the MacBook Neo to -
- Write/outline, etc.
- Play cozy games
- Travel companion for drivable trips
- Analog feel (no social media)
- Entertainment (streaming apps)

Is this a good contender for the above needs?

If you hate Apple, move around.

I signed up for the documentary film writing course.

Very excited about this.

From finding a prospective producer to realizing that this project has the ability to come to life - this is timely.

Do know I’m going to have a good cry about this season I’m in.

My creativity is exploding & expansive. I’m meeting the right people to assist in bringing my ideas to life.

This is what I’ve prayed for & it’s happening. My god.

In taking to a friend in the community about my documentary idea, I asked her - would you be interested in possibly producing this?

She said yes.

So, I guess I have a producer for the documentary. Lol

My audacity to ask for what I want hasn’t faded with age. And I love that for me.

As an elder Millennial, the way people used to cut up about using Wiki for anything lol. But Wiki was a good starting point, but you need more people (references/sources).

And I love the public scholarship aspect. I have something similar in mind to do at some point. Can't wait to see what y'all do

This is an interesting take that I agree with.

Like, are people going beyond the 2 minute video they watch to learn more, or will they just settle for what was told to them without digging more?

Also - how do we get people to be more curious to dive deeper instead of having superficial insight?

In Mercy's Shadow: The Mercy Narrative in True Crime (Podcast) Vilissa Thompson on erasure, ableism, and the stories true crime refuses to tell.

In January, @angryblacklady.blacksky.app talked to disability justice advocate @vilissathompson.bsky.social about how true crime narratives can dehumanize disabled victims and misportray their murders as “mercy killings.”

I’m deeply considering it!

I’m considering this documentary film writing course.

It starts on Thursday. Just saw the newsletter about it.

Yes - a documentary. Now I have two film bodies of work to dig into. Lol.

The price is right for it & it’s only 5 weeks. I can do it, technically.

We’ll see.

In Mercy's Shadow: The Mercy Narrative in True Crime (Podcast) Vilissa Thompson on erasure, ableism, and the stories true crime refuses to tell.

March 1st is Disability Day of Mourning (DDoM). DDoM centers disabled people who are victims of filicide.

DDoM is the influence behind me creating In Mercy’s Shadow.

Listen to this episode of @angryblacklady.blacksky.app & I regarding #disability & true crime.

And some of them sound fun AF.

One thing I'm glad I do for one of my Notion main pages - have embed a lo-fi video so that I have it on in the background.

I like the challenges that have seasonal backgrounds on their videos - get me festive for what season or holiday is approaching.

What Black Disabled Women Want The basic human rights of proper health care and opportunities through work should be available to everyone.

In light of everything, a reminder:

"The most visible layer as a Black disabled person is our Blackness, which is constantly under the threat of scrutiny, assumed guilt, and, as logically follows, persecution." - Tinu Abayomi-Paul in #TheBlackAgendaBook

Waking up to see that that man said the slur 3 separate times during the event - all to Black people, mind you - is why the posturing is absurd.

One of those persons is Hannah Beachler, who is the production designer for Sinners. She shared her experience online about it.

How does this get worse?
