In the wake of the assault, Marsak congratulates Taro - effectively telling the Whitetail that he has attained enough experience to call himself a "Gunbreaker." As a result, Taro was rewarded with the Bodyguard armour and coat. As Marsak states- modified to suit Taro's wardrobe (he means the coat is black).

Field Record - The Bozja Incident For those surviving sons and daughters of Bozja, who witnessed the disaster and yet feel Her loss - it is oft more than a little galling to hear Eorzean historians refer to the wholesale destruction of one of the star's great cities as an "Incident" - such a coldly insufficient term for the reduction to glass of a culture that endured for thousands of years, the death of tens of thousands, the near-total elimination of a people, its language, history and customs. To these siblings in grief, it is Nesrechya Bozjani - the Bozjan Calamity - and, as it shares the same ultimate cause as that Calamity which befell Eorzea, they view it as a single continual tragedy, only culminating in Dalamud's fall, thereby marking the onset of the Seventh Umbral Era a full decade earlier than it is reckoned in Eorzea.

Gaius was Taro's commanding Legatus for much of his time in the Imperial army. Taro dislikes him for the obvious reasons but in the past had a high degree of reverence and respect for him.

Perhaps it's because I am mega stressed IRL but the thought of an AMV of Taro to something like LInkin Park or something is really doing something to my happy brain juices

Lyse (rightly) distrusts Taro initially but quickly becomes one of his supporters among the Ala Mhigan resistance. He supports her leadership and writes about her as well in his work on Ala Mhigo.

Taro would've known Pipin while he was in the Immortal Flames. He respects him and thinks he a fine warrior. Pipin wasn't present when Taro was put on leave during the Ivy investigations and so he doesn't harbour any misgivings really. Pipin even apologized to him.

Taro gives him a tip when he visits the Saucer as a means of saying "Sorry" for his name.

Taro has always seen Fordola and felt pity. Given that Taro served in Ala Mhigo, he knows what Fordola was fighting for and how wrong it was. Much like with Misija, Taro feels as though he could've ended up like Fordola if his circumstances were different. He's thankful he didn't.

Taro respects her as a Warrior. Since he was a Stormblood NPC, he saw her abilities during the Nadaam and was quite happy he wasn't on the receiving end of one of her fireballs.
