The landslide swept a path 5 km long taking away more than 1,000 homes and killing 34 people.

This place can get really green 🌱🌿 and also really dusty 🐪🏜️. Surprisingly, these two images were taken just one month apart — one in March and the other in April 2025.

It's been long since I saw one of these 🙂 🌈 🌧️

This year's Halloween fell 5 Days short of a full moon 🌕. A full moon on Halloween night is a very rare event and occurs once every 18 years. The last time it occurred was in 2020, and the next time it will occur will be in 2039.

Do you see the tides are in phase with the position of the moon in the sky? It's high tide when the moon is at its highest point in the sky and low tide when the moon is about to rise or set.

The second high tide occurs due to the centrifugal force of the Earth-Moon system rotating.

2012 Sep 21: Disc by the International Scientific Optical Network (Russia) at 17.5 mag. Very small perihelion at 0.012 au on 2013 Nov 28 lead to extreme predictions. It reached -2 mag very close to the sun & disintegrated. Last seen Dec 7.

Very interesting observation: my shadow is to my right when I’m in Kitale (latitude 1°N) and to my left when I’m in Juja (latitude 1°S). Both pictures were taken within 5 minutes of true midday, and I was facing south in both pictures.

We are now one week away from the equinox.

As someone who believes in learning beyond the classroom, I completely condemn teachers who only want students to read books to pass exams.

So those girls were denied a chance to see the total lunar eclipse just because it happened during preps time. 😕
