Blind refugee abandoned by Border Patrol dies in Buffalo. A nearly blind refugee abandoned by Border Patrol miles from his home dies in Buffalo after having been missing for nearly a week.

Here's a story about his death www.investigativepost.org/2026/02/25/b...

Yes, thank you. And I'd add that the faculty who know most about education are teaching faculty. Either in mostly teaching institutions or whose main responsibility is to teach.

This is the kind of thing white supremacists have been doing to Emmett Till’s memorial for decades.

It’s wild to see them do this to a white woman who the entire world saw extrajudicially murdered.

In the last days of humanity, humans cultivated a growing disdain for their own soul. Many didn't even believe in the sanctuary of the creative process anymore, they wanted to eliminate it and usher in automation to do the work. But it didn't go the way humans wanted or expected; creativity meant experiencing, processing, understanding human joy and pain. For a robot to create a human, humanity had to ensure that a piece of themselves could live in us.

YouTube video by Bruce Springsteen Bruce Springsteen - Streets Of Minneapolis (Official Audio)

I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

Every "low and despised" person rejected by the elites has that of God in them. Every outcast has a home in the blessed community.

And when they come together in love and solidarity, it can be, as George Fox urged us to be, "a terror to all the adversaries of God."

As always, superb analysis by @sarahkendzior.bsky.social My fav quote: "As for restoring integrity, the only way to do it is to live your values and model that for others. Integrity is the one thing that once you lose, you can’t get back. Integrity is a form of power that no oppressor can touch."

66 You may be 38 years old, as I happen to be. And one day, some great opportunity stands before you and calls you to stand up for some great principle, some great issue, some great cause. And you refuse to do it because you are afraid.... You refuse to do it because you want to live longer.... You're afraid that you will lose your job, or you are afraid that you will be criticized or that you will lose your popularity, or you're afraid that somebody will stab you, or shoot at you or bomb your house; so you refuse to take the stand.
Well, you may go on and live until you are 90, but you're just as dead at 38 as you would be at 90. And the cessation of breathing in your life is but the belated announcement of an earlier death of the spirit.

Opinion | I'm a Minneapolis sociologist who studies violence. Here's how ICE observers are helping. Research into how violence occurs shows that disapproval from the people around you can help reduce it.

For @msnownews.bsky.social, I wrote an article about how ICE Watch is grounded in sociological theories of violence prevention.

The reality is that most men will only commit public violence in extremely specific scenarios and ICE Watch disrupts the conditions necessary for escalation.

Minneapolis, Minnesota
For Renee Nicole Good
Killed by ICE. on January 7, 2026
by Amanda Gorman
They say she is no more, That there her absence roars, Blood-blown like a rose.
Iced wheels flinched & froze.
Now, bare riot of candles, Dark fury of flowers, Pure howling of hymns.
If for us she arose,
Somewhere, in the pitched deep of our grief, Crouches our power,
The howl where we begin,
Straining upon the edge of the crooked crater Of the worst of what we've been.
Change is only possible, & all the greater, When the labour
& bitter anger of our neighbors
Is moved by the love
* better angels of our nature.

Appreciate this essay. I discovered Octavia Butler’s work relatively recently and felt both illuminated and saddened reading her books. Glad to learn more about her.
