His left eye is glowing gold and he's pulling gold geometric threads apart with this hands. Below, there is the silhouette of a city, one small moon, and two tiny sky whales.
Here's the cover illustration I had the pleasure of painting for 'The Shape of Monsters' by @tessagratton.bsky.social , for Orbit Books!

Cover depicts a brown skinned young man in a sleeveless red-brown robe pulling apart threads of magic with his bare hands. His left eye is golden and possibly connected to the magical threads. Beneath him is a magical bronze city-scape, and in the gray-brown sky a single bright blue star falls.

I'm not even done yet (because i am stressed but want to SAVOR IT) and I highly urge everyone to pick up a copy!!

11.11.2025 15:50 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Had occasion, as one does, to think on Shakespeare's sonnets this morning, which called to mind this bit of absolute gorgeousness from Judi Dench. In case you need some beauty: www.youtube.com/watch?v=0XKS...
11.11.2025 15:41 β π 87 π 25 π¬ 6 π 5Just finished The Mercy Makers by @tessagratton.bsky.social and it's one of the best fantasy stories I've read in a while. Queer, subversive, dreamy, tense, and spicy, with gorgeous, intriguing world-building, fascinating magic, and my favorite kind of narrator (3rd person cheeky). I'm astounded.

Mamdani: "We can respond to oligarchy and authoritarianism with the strength it fears, not the appeasement it craves. After all, if anyone can show a nation betrayed by Donald Trump how to defeat him, it is the city that gave rise to him."
05.11.2025 04:38 β π 18634 π 4393 π¬ 164 π 354Don't forget that Zohran Mamdani spent his entire campaign standing proudly beside the trans community. He went to trans rights rallies just to show support. He proudly waved trans rights flags without hesitation. He refused to back down in support of trans rights. That makes me happy.
