Not surprisingly, shorter durations (10-14d) appear to be equivalent to longer durations (21-28d) in dogs (no data for cats).

Please warn pet owners if you prescribe chewable apoquel to a dog and they have a cat in the home too! There are reports of cats getting into these pork flavored tablets and resulting in severe illness (AKI, neurotoxicity, hypotension) and death. Even a few tablets can be a major issue #VetSky

What could go wrong?

I'll need to check out this episode on my car ride tomorrow. The soft palate is also a good spot to see it in our furry friends.

Kt/V is a zombie. It can't be killed. Trial after trial shows it to not be helpful in improving outcomes but still we dutifully tune our patients treatment by it. How can we escape urea clearance? #NephJC

What is your go-to immunosuppressive protocol for a suspected immune-mediated GN (absent a biopsy diagnosis) with rapidly progressive azotemia and massive proteinuria?

Which dissecting scope are you using?

We are going to measure serum Osm and urine Osm as well as get a urine chemistry. Any other thoughts? And if hypovolemic hyponatremia secondary to CKD, would you prefer SQF vs. enteral water supplementation in this 50kg dog?

The owner was able to estimate later about 4-5 cups per day, or 25 mL/kg/day of free water for this dog so I no longer suspect the water but rather a hypovolemic hyponatremia and dehydration not appreciated on our PE.

The owner said they had been adding a lot of water to his food to encourage him to eat it and making it very soup-like, but was unable to quantify. Initial thoughts were that this could be iatrogenic secondary to the increased free water administration at home
