Watching people "talk" to ChatGPT is looking more and more like Gollum speaking to Smeagol

Unfriendly reminder, AI is being used to destroy trust. Do not normalize the use of AI. AI can not reliably enhance videos or low-quality images.

This is the quiet replacement of reality. Do not let this be normalized.

The people who spent years defending and even lionizing Kyle Rittenhouse and Ashli Babbitt now want us to believe that an unarmed mother in her car and a disarmed nurse were domestic terrorists who deserved to be murdered by law enforcement.

'Democracy in action': Cities react to privacy concerns by canceling Flock surveillance contracts Cities across the country are cancelling their contracts with Flock Safety over privacy and security concerns.

NEW: A city in Virginia was debating whether to end its contract with Flock.

An unsolicited email from Flock's CEO labeling concerned citizens as "activists" who "weaken public safety and normalize lawlessness" sealed the deal to end it.

Federal law enforcement agents shot and killed a man in Minneapolis on Jan. 24 according to local police officials. DHS told Fox News that the man was β€œarmed with a gun”. A video of the shooting appears to show that a gun was taken from the man before the first shot was fired. x.com/BillMelugin_...

Letter from Ireland - Mystery of the Fulacht Fiadh - Archaeology Magazine - January/February 2012 Versions of the same Bronze Age structure pop up all around Ireland and throughout the United Kingdom. Archaeologists, however, still have not agreed on their purpose.

I’ve had a Substack scraper running for a couple of years now (starting when I read Katz’s Atlantic article in November 2023). Every once in a while I check in on it, and the Nazi situation over there is very much not getting better.

1/ 30 years ago, Russian law enforcement agents started wearing masks to carry out their duties. It soon became a standard tactic to intimidate and extort those seen as opponents of the regime, and became known in Russian as a 'mask show'. ⬇️

Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

The idea that journalists, politicians, groups or - you know, women, people of colour, LGBTQ+ people - should "stay on the pitch" doesn't really hold up.

Foreign Minister's account has 60k followers - 40 likes, 13k views?

Blue ticks straight to the top of the queue with misogyny, bile.

No, Grok hasn’t paywalled its deepfake image feature X’s sexual deepfake machine is still running, despite Grok saying otherwise.

The headlines out this morning that Elon's X has restricted the ability to create sexualized deepfakes appear to be false.

We'll identify a direct correlation between rapists and their AI companion usage.

There's zero chance that "I never say no" doesn't warp the brains of men, many of whom have a poor understanding of consent in the first place.

Machine learning, like the kind that makes a GPS better, that's good.

Generative AI, like the kind that makes up papers and cites them, that's bad.

Remember when ChatGPT or whichever bullshit generator said the Underground Railroad was an actual, literal railroad?

Oh yes that's useful.
