Just to add to this: the notion of "peaking" is a veiled form of comparison/success culture and it is a POISON. What others think of your work is none of your business; what YOU think of your work is none of your business also! Just make the things that give you joy!

I've seen discourse surrounding artists "peaking" at 30 and I just want to say don't fall for that trap!
I'll be 45 this year and I don't think I've ever been more resolute about my work.
Existence and perseverance is art; you can not PEAK yourself. Every iota of creation you make is a miracle.☄️

I don't follow figure skating, so I couldn't figure out why I started sobbing while watching Alysa Liu's gold medal-winning performance.

Then it dawned on me: I was watching a young woman be free.

Ideally, the people using their talent, time, and energy to make outstanding creative work and the people relentlessly promoting and marketing that work wouldn’t be the same people.

Living Colour: Tiny Desk Concert Did we really squeeze the big sound of Living Colour behind the Tiny Desk? Yes, we did. And, yet, the band lost none of its intensity.

What was a good thing from your day? My hair is the same color as my coworker’s dog, so I gave him an emo hair wig with my ponytail.

No Other Choice was very bonkers and I enjoyed it. Another 2.5-hour movie that doesn’t feel like it, in a good way.

This AND all the people who had to go to the hospital for regular reasons (other illness, treatments, birth) and have a strange, isolated, *probably not super therepeutic* experience with limited staff & resources and no visitors. How could you not know someone.

Someday I need to do a tour of fabrics that remind me of people, because I am looking at a flannel right now that reminds me of someone named Jessica (last name ??) who was in my class in 1st grade.
