They do have a sister, who doesn’t have art atm (but will eventually I’m sure) who stands over a different dimension, though her lore will be covered when I get art of her :3

As for this Noctol in specific, their name is Zymlin, they/them, they stand sentinel over a planet that has 2 stars orbiting it, causing an endless daytime. Since Noctol are of course nocturnal, this means they are always tired, as the sun signals them as sleep time.

This means Noctols can come in almost any shape or size, though they always at least have some traits in common with the rest of their species.

Their own home civilization is thriving, exploiting uninhabited dimensions to usher in an age of prosperity. Using their hyper advanced tech, body modification (biological, cybernetic, even synthetic) has easy civilian access, and is even popular.

This can be by destroying the research, killing the researcher, or using planet killer weapons to eliminate the race as a whole. They do all of this to ensure there is never, ever, a cross dimensional war, seeing as how a war of that scale would be catastrophic to all life across all dimensions.

They look after every dimension they find, ensuring that that dimension’s lifeforms don’t discover the same dimension hopping technology they did. If a lifeform comes close to discovering this technology, they discreetly eliminate the technology by any means necessary.

Noctols
A race of anthro bat/moth hybrids from another dimension, they’re ultra high tech to the point of seeming like us to be magic. They discovered dimension crossing travel, and upon finding out other dimensions have sapient life, they decided to act as sentinels.
