And I say all of this as someone who didn't actually hate Veilguard. I just wish it felt more in line with the canon and lore that Dragon Age Origins, 2, and Inquisition gave us.

At the end of the day the reactivity is just one straw on a pile of straws, as it were. I appreciate the team for what we did get but I know somewhere in the annals of the multiverse, there's a Dragon Age 4 that was better, and we didn't get it.

I get that it's really hard to do, especially four games in, in a substantive way for everyone. But considering the depth some games have, where you can play repeated, fulfilling, thorough playthroughs with different outcomes... Veilguard feels weak in this regard *as well as others.*

IMO the inclusion of it for some but not for all is the biggest problem Veilguard has. If you played as a Solasmancer, you got a lot of reactivity, and it felt very satisfying. But my Blackwallmancer self got... a couple of weaksauce little codex entries and a letter. Whoopdedoo.

Great write-up. One thing I'll say: no matter what I think of reactivity between games in general, it's not a promise that I think can be abandoned lightly once established as a feature of a series, painful or no.
