Incorrect and victim blaming statement.

Abusers use coercion, physical abuse, and other means to hold a victim hostage and it has NOTHING to do with their self worth. Abusers don’t start abusing till deep into a relationship.

Walking away from an abuser is the most dangerous time for a victim as it’s the period they are most likely to be murdered, your assessment here is the same kind of added stress that makes victims feel judged.

This is all an incorrect assessment. Usually those who tend to forgive abusers don’t have low self worth but someone likely taught them as society teaches that forgiveness is the only way through instead of teaching them to walk away and go no contact is the real solution. This is victim blaming.

I reported mine, and the DA approved it to go to court, but in my work with survivors and the way I was treated my prosecution …. Wouldn’t ever advise it other than to document it on behalf of future victims, because they don’t stop raping.

I hired a private investigator and an attorney to go over everything - not just with my rape, with harassment with stalking, I’ve obtained my sane kit and gotten to pay some medical debt from my treatment for the STD my rapist gave me, for testing, for travel for court, etc. thank you.
