So yes, it may seem like they are "moving on", but really, it's performative indifference. They would rather completely minimize you and how they treated you, than understand the impact of their behaviors.

While understandable, it's still inexcusable, and points to where *they* are, not you.

I have found that harmful behavior + emotional immaturity = avoidance. Facing the person they have harmed requires them to face themselves, and often, they just can't do it. Especially if the person has a certain image they like to portray, confronting that behavior is in direct conflict w/that.

I have been seeing some posts of people saying, "People will really hurt you, and move on with their lives like nothing happened."

I actually think it's more nuanced than that. A lot of people lack accountability, conflict resolution skills, and the ability to healthily repair relationships.
