had orpheus not turned [by] kirma Summary: Jayce does not like to dwell on the surreality of Viktor’s new visage. He hates dwelling on Viktor’s death even more. Instead, he focuses on this feeling—on the weight of Viktor’s body leaning against his. On the lulling smell of ozone left after thundering rain. On Viktor, Viktor, Viktor. Jayce brings the Hexcore to Viktor's body, and through their fusion, Viktor survives. Affection holds them together for just a little while longer.

Notes: Something that I feel was severely glossed over in Season 2 Act 1 is that Viktor had no choice in what happened to his body. I’m not totally familiar with League, but I always liked how Viktor’s original character was very autonomous, especially with regards to his physical form. That fundamental aspect to him being taken away is a blow that I still haven’t recovered from. It’s especially disappointing considering how Arcane’s Viktor is physically disabled—I was excited to see how that would inform that part of him, and his later obsession with perfection. This is my attempt to amend that, or at least further explore how Jayce’s decision goes on to affect both their dynamic and their respective selves. I wrote this thing over the span of a week, which is something that I’ve never, ever accomplished before. This is the power of yearning for divorce…

watched arcane s2 recently & had gripes with how viktor’s bodily autonomy was handled (revoked) so i trapped myself in a gdoc for a week & wrote 9.2k+ words of cope. is there a term for a fix-it that makes things irreparably worse?
