Scrubs Bastard Coated Bastards with Bastard Filling
From episode 407, My Common Enemy Requested by: cab637pup Scrubs Bastard Coated Bastards with Bastard Filling

"Lady, people aren't chocolates. You know what they are, mostly? Bastards. Bastard-coated bastards with bastard filling."

I'm rewatching Scrubs and this remains one of my absolutely favorite moments in the show.

The boyfriend and I went out for bar cheeseburgers.

One of the servers has a shirt that reads, on the back, "I know the owner too."

😂

Yes, Netflix, for the third time today, I *am* still watching Nashville.

I had chemo yesterday. Sitting on the couch watching TV is what I'm capable of doing today.

Jane Doe,* a mother in her thirties named who suffers from diagnosed epilepsy, was detained in November 2023 and quickly targeted by the then-Assistant Warden of the facility. The warden began stalking her and harassing her with aggressive, inappropriate sexual comments. After months of this harassment, he escalated his attacks, cornering Jane in a warehouse where he forcibly groped her breasts and genitals. From February to May 2024, the warden regularly forced Jane to perform oral sex on him, threatening her life and her family if she refused.

September 15, 2025 – Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights, the ACLU of Louisiana, and the National Immigration Project today filed multiple complaints on behalf of one woman and three transgender people who were subjected to sexual abuse, harassment, forced labor, retaliation and denial of medical care at the South Louisiana ICE Processing Center (SLIPC) in Basile, Louisiana. As outlined in four separate complaints under the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) and a civil rights complaint submitted to the Department of Homeland Security oversight bodies, including the Office for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties (CRCL), the four individuals were repeatedly abused by prison officers and ICE employees between 2023 to 2025. The complaints cite instances of sexual assault, forcible touching, groping, physical abuse, denial of seizure medication, and retaliatory solitary confinement.

Jane filed multiple Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) complaints, grievances, and verbally reported the abuse to ICE and medical staff at SLIPC. She was ultimately deported in January 2025.

I'm watching "Silver Linings Playbook." I didn't watch it when it came out, it was huge, so why not?

Tiny little things are familiar. Either I've seen it before, or something with a similar plot.

I wonder if I'd remember it if it wasn't for for chemo brain fog.

Why can't I remember things?

I have two more chemotherapy treatments left - on September 18th and October 9th.

I'm beginning to look forward to life after cancer - and dream of days that I feel healthy enough to get out and DO things.

James Dobson taught generations of parents how to abuse and torment their children.

I carry emotional scars that time and therapy can never erase, and much of the blame lies securely at his feet.

I wish there was a hell, because I wish he was in it.

I'm glad God's mercy is greater than mine.

James Dobson is dead.

I echo what Pastor Lura Groen said when Pat Robertson died:

[He] is being surprised by Love.
I do not know if discovering the vastness of God's love is hell for him, or heaven. Perhaps a little of both. That's above my pay grade.
But Divine Love has him now.

Days like that make me want to reenact that scene from “Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead.”

Grab a group of friends, them the dishes up on the roof, throw them in the air, and shoot them.

“The dishes are DONE, man!”

I'm listening to the audiobook of Rachel Held Evan's' "Inspired: Slaying Giants, Walking on Water, and Loving the Bible Again."

Her voice reminds me that I love the Bible - aside from evangelicals and Trump and all the church hurt that makes the Bible *difficult* to the extreme.

She was a GIFT.

I'm trying to remind myself that tomorrow is another day.

Blame Orphan Annie and Scarlett O'Hara.
