A cold, rainy day didn’t stop us from meeting students at UT and Austin Community College — updating their voter registration, getting them on to the rolls, signing them up to volunteer, and staying in touch so that we can turn them out to vote and win big elections up and down the ballot.

Spent the evening in San Antonio talking with Texans about the importance of running for a place on the ballot—from local offices to the State House. If we field a strong candidate for every office, we not only have a much stronger chance of flipping seats down ballot but also at winning statewide.

Just wrapped up another great day of organizing on college campuses. This time at UTSA where we were registering voters, recruiting volunteers, and having real conversations about the future we want for Texas and our country. This is how we win in Texas.

We were back in Waco yesterday to continue this work by registering new voters, recruiting Democrats to run at every position on the ballot, and recruiting volunteers to help power their victories.

In 2018, we swung McLennan County by 22 points from the last Senate race. We did it by showing up again and again, organizing on the ground, building a volunteer army, turning out first time voters, and working with local candidates.

At Powered by People, we’re focused on winning power by meeting people where they’re at. That means recruiting candidates for every position and building a community of volunteers so we can register new Democratic voters, get them on the rolls, and turn them out to power victories across Texas.

Spent the afternoon talking to Texans in Brazos County, which voted for Trump by 25 points. Conventional wisdom says they’re “too red” but we aren’t about to write them off. The only way we can win elections is by being with those who will decide their outcomes.

Great event in McKinney last night as we continue helping to recruit the candidates and volunteers who will ensure that we have the net new Democratic voters necessary to win up and down the ballot.

That’s why we’re out on the road, recruiting the candidates and volunteers who will win important 2026 races for judgeships, County Commissioner, State House and State Senate, Congress, and other positions up and down the ballot.

Some people talk about coattails that flow down from the top of the ticket. But we know that one of the reasons we got so close to winning in 2018 was because of the incredible candidates down ballot who were pushing votes and power up all the way to the top.

Being with all of these great people more than a year from the biggest midterm of our lives filled me with hope and confidence.

Persistence, hard work, and the power (and joy) of people is how we’re going to win political power and use it to make sure everyone has a chance to build a better life.

Hundreds of people came out last night in Fort Worth to support Taylor Rehmet’s (Nov. 4) special election campaign for TX Senate District 9.

More than 80 of them signed up for block walk shifts and more than a dozen told us they’re open to running for places on the ballot in Tarrant County in 2026.
