We headed to Roppongi in the evening and... uuuuh boy, the Illumination here is beautiful, yes, but the people are something else. Crowds, being rushed onto the streets for photos and rushed off not even 20 seconds later was something I didn't expect to see 😂

Of course Tokyo Tower was on our list as well (including the photospot a bit further I read about) - and it was just soooo warm again that day. Good that I did indeed pack my T-Shirt! We easily managed to get tickets right there for the day for ¥3500

We also headed to Ikebukuro, where we checked out lots of stores, bought some cosplay supplies, I tried Hawks' drink and also visited Sunshine City (but heck, the Animate there was just so incredibly crowded on the weekend)

Later, I explored the 'pro' photo mode on my phone for a bit 😁 We basically just strolled around and followed the lights to spot some interesting areas

That evening, we also spotted our first Illumination which was just gorgeous! 😍 (Tokyo Midtown Hibiya)

We also explored Tokyo station and discovered a nearby free rooftop area. Also, woaaaah, it was over 20 degrees that day! So warm!

It was our first (and last) shrine in Japan and we bought all our Omamori there and left a donation (which totally surprised the monks there 😂 they gave us lots of tea in return) and the flea market there is just so interesting!

We then later joined @rozenmary.bsky.social and her mum on the hunt for some Apothecary Diaries' treasures (aka they were handing out numbers for the pop up store and we managed to get a good one!) and I also got an amazing drink recommendation! 🥰

Since our main base this time was in Shinjuku, we did explore the area a lot. Alleys, street dancers, Godzilla, a shrine, lots of 7Eleven and more.

We then headed to Shibuya and succumbed to the first shopping spree 😂 But it was just so cool to see all the Nerd stuff there and we just couldn't resist (Mel found all the Devil May Cry Beans and I just squealed happily at all the Persona merch)

After landing, we headed to Terminal 3 and got our welcome Suica which was really easy. Then we took the monorail and later switched trains to reach Shinjuku (also got a glimpse of Rush Hour 😂 ) where we checked-in to our hotel. Sadly the hotel didn't live up to its price, but well..

We flew to Haneda with ANA and their service was really amazing! We also were lucky with our neighbour switching seats and spotting Mount Fuji in the distance.

Soooo, I sm back from Japan and this will be my travelthread about places, highlights etc.

As soon as I am done editing the photos, I am going to post those as well, but for now just looooots of phone snapshots 😁✨️
