Breastfeeding plays an important role in cancer prevention and much more, so it is encouraging to see it getting attention in Parliament.

This is a testament to the amazing work of @1stepsnutrition.bsky.social & @katiepk.bsky.social who advocate tirelessly for better nutrition in the early years.

Great to see infant feeding being raised as a matter of policy priority for the UK Parliament by @jessbrownfullermp.bsky.social, who made it clear that the promise by Secretary of State for Health to create the β€œhealthiest generation ever” cannot be met unless infant feeding is prioritised.

The meeting rooms in Facebook's offices all have cutesy names (Guns'n'Rosegarden in DC, I'll be Bak Choy in Singapore), and our goal of convincing human rights groups of Facebook's good intentions is perhaps not helped by the fact that the name of the meeting room, Wicked Witch of the West, is displayed, without explanation, under Chris's talking head for the entire meeting. (I point this out to him afterwards, and within days the name of the meeting room has been changed).

Can't recommend Careless People by Sarah Wynn-Williams enough. Excellently written, and while the subject is largely quite existentially depressing, there are moments where I have literally laughed out loud, including this gem... #carelesspeople

Additionally it increases the environmental cost of each Google search as ai requires much more energy. Making search results worse and damaging the planet πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

We do the following: give veggies and dip as a snack pre-dinner, always include a veggie in a snack, include kid in cooking and choosing (when possible). Roasted beetroot to turn tongue (and poop) pink and other fun ways to try new veg. Mostly try not to make it a big deal if they're not into it.

Such an important topic, thanks for covering. Excellent point about delivering feeding advice in a way that is supportive of maternal mental health. I think it's often forgotten how vulnerable new parents are.

I wonder what the impact of late or going undiagnosed is on life expectancy. The article points out that people with ADHD find it harder to access medical services, have mental health conditions and higher rates of suicide. Easy to believe these things get worse with late/no diagnosis.

This is a lovely article. Captures the bewilderment of early postpartum. With so many opinions on parenting/feeding/sleeping/everything so readily available, often unsolicited, reassurance that you're doing ok is so powerful.

@thenewsagents.com What if ... the 2011 referendum on switching to AV had passed? Would love to hear your perspectives on this... Would we still have had Tories in gov for 12 years? Would Brexit even have been possible?
