It got ripped off. Let's just be honest about this.

"Splash" deserves to be in there purely for Hanks' line "Mr Mango On My Shoulder".

Also, for providing enough material for "The Shape Of Water" to plunder and win a "Best Original Screenplay" Oscar for.

DROP YOUR TOP 5 WOMEN DIRECTORS 🎬

I'm going with "Working Directors", and the ones I'm most interested to see what they do next, so:

Autumn DeWilde
Rose Glass
Cate Shortland
Lorene Scafaria
Jessica Lee GagnΓ© (because her "Severance" episode was staggeringly good.)

Wish this was a "10" list.

Going to follow @autumndewilde.bsky.social, because I absolutely loved her "Emma" on this list...

I can't think that A Fall Of Moondust has enough action for Bigelow. I'd give her Forever War, maybe.

I'm not sure I'd want to see any of those movies, though!

Whenever somebody new follows me, I immediately check out their profile. If they have 0 to 300 posts and 47 thousand followers, they're instantly muted and blocked.

I won't lie...looking at that picture makes me feel slightly nauseous. It's like watching a men's public lavatory, as technology.

Very interesting, the lack of decent science fiction movies from women directors.

I'll be honest - going through the list of women-directed films, there were a lot that I just had zero interest in watching. Come on girls: make more interesting subject matter! We'll watch them!

I like the more claustrophobic feeling here, and the lower camera angle.

Also, I like looking at blousy dames across the room.

Yeah, that's pretty much all I want it for. The new sensors are appealing. You could say "just get a Fitbit/whatever", but the added Apple Stuff is a bonus for my all-Apple architecture.

Plus, Snoopy watchface complication.

I was relieved when it powered-up, I won't lie.

Brand new OEM Apple keyboard, too - not an eBay third party. Feels I'm writing with a new machine. The old keyboard keys were honestly horrible beneath. It's amazing how much clag builds-up. And I'm a neat freak who washes his hands regularly.

The covers of three books. Left to right: Gandolfini: Jim, Tony, and the life of a legend, about the late Sopranos actor. The cover shows Gandolfini looking shy, peering offscreen with one unobstructed eye and another that peeks out between the fingers of his right hand.
CENTER: The cover of Cinema Her Way, a coffee table book by Marya E. Gates about female directors. On the cover is actress Michelle Rodriguez as the boxer heroine of Karyn Kusama's sports drama Girlfight, about a woman boxer.
RIGHT David Hockney's painting collection The Arrival of Spring in Normandy, showing a painting of a verdant field. In the background of the field is green grass. in the upper foreground are the branches of a tree sprouting white, cottony buds.

It was! The tear-down I didn't mind. But the machine itself's old, and been torn-down and built-up numerous times. I knew there were a couple of shortcuts I could take. But there were nearly 100 screws holding the keyboard in. Should have taken 5 hours...took me closer to 7. But it all works.

Okay, folks. I've done a complete tear-down and rebuild on a MacBook Pro before. It was hard. Today...the same, with the kink of replacing the keyboard. Something so daunting, even iFixit.com don't have a guide and suggest doing something else.

6 hours I'll have a fixed machine, or be weeping.

Yelling, shrieking, panicking. "Best of the best"?

My favourite moment...the whole crew watching for several seconds as the Predator scanning beam rakes slowly along, yet nobody has the initiative to pull 7's leg in.

Watched Netflix's War Machine, which is exactly what you'd expect if you pureed Predator, War Of The Worlds, Battle Los Angeles, Aliens, and Battleship down to 100 minutes.

Alan Ritchson is good enough that he deserves more-developed material.
