Nothing Trump has done shocks or surprises me, all of it was expected. But I thought there would be some resistance from businesses, from institutions, from the Democratic party. All have rolled over, complied in advance, and done everything to please the mad king, to avoid his disfavor.

I think it's important to continuously reiterate that federal science funding grants in the US (and elsewhere) are made because the government, with the input of panels of independent experts, have concluded that the work being done is IN THE INTEREST OF THE NATION.

The crackdowns on civilians and the threat of the national guard being sent to LA should be *the* most important story right now-- not the Trump/Musk feud or whatever the f**k that was.
