All city staff was there for was to explain, again, to a slightly different subset of men, how the short term borrowing works. That was it. Could've been put in a pamphlet. A waste of everybody's time.

This all could have been dealt with by council by now and there wouldn't have been this extra delay.

Then they went in camera to hear about the details of the terms of the banking deal w/ BMO. /6 #yqrcc

Then they asked the CFO all the same questions they asked the CFO about the short term borrowing when it was before council. Basically, they got a free lesson on how the city does its financing. /5 #yqrcc

Basically, one of the civilian A&F Cmte members explained to Tsiklis what short term borrowing was, confirmed that, yes, just as the CFO said, it was a Perfectly Normal Financial Instrument for a city to have. /4 #yqrcc

So dude got it sent back to A&F TODAY! And you know what they did with it? Nothing!

To be fair, there is an entirely new cast of characters behind *this* growth plan. And not just council… with the exception of the acting city manager, everybody on the executive leadership team is fairly fresh-faced.

Don't tell anybody but my money in the office pool is on Namerind coming to council in 2027 to ask for their parking lot back.

So… fun council thing… this has happened before. Bezo brings a monster amendment where everybody spends an hour saying, "This is unnecessary" or "This is illegal" & they go on break & Bezo's rewritten amendment comes back a couple sentences long & gets voted down anyway. #yqrcc
