According to an Order in Council former Regina mayor Sandra Masters has been hired by Premier Scott Moe's office as a deputy chief of staff for communications.

She'll have a salary of $14,221 a month. (That's significantly more than she ever made as mayor)

We're doing that with the Taylor Field land. But I would imagine to make this work long term & for more than just a special one off, we would need a development arm that bought, serviced and resold the property. More like what we're doing w/ The Towns.

To her credit, former Mayor Master’s used to ask admin why the city didn’t have a map or database of the underground utilities for each property. Apparently some cities know exactly what condition the water and sewer lines are everywhere …. does anyone know if that’s true?

That's what I'm confused about. The city uses Oracle's Utilities Work and Asset Management System (WAM) and one of it's features is visibility into where infrastructure assets are in their lifecycle and maintenance planning.

So in theory the city should already be able to do this.

It's always ideology with this guy. Sound policy takes a back seat. And this was the guy accusing Good Trouble Network of using a free food program as a front for an ideological training camp.

Moroz: Corner of College & St John, there is an almost complete apartment. There used to be 108ft of frontage. Realtor had them on market but asking too much. We were interested in them. But had to call city to find out what was going on w/ water & sewer. City's answer was hire engineer. #yqrcc

Bezo: You have to model stormwater and rain events on a small lot?
Moroz: On a small lot no. You just have to apply for a permit. #yqrcc

KGS: There can be technical things like sewer & storm water & what pump station it should go to. We have one we're working on in the centre, the list was lengthy. One that stuck w/ me was modelling storm water flows to Wacana Creek. #yqrcc

Moroz: To your admin's credit, it has gotten easier over time. But a problem is that each individual parcel has its own quirks. #yqrcc

Bezo: You talked about red tape reduction Sktoon did, you talked about fees. On red tape, if you wanted to develop something downtown, can you be descriptive of costs of what you do? #yqrcc

Important to note that the economic benefits of events and conventions goes mostly to provincial and federal coffers: increased tourism spending on hotels, restaurants and shopping equates more PST and GST and income tax revenue.

KGS Group: I think we're proposing to remove hurdles to have underutlized lands developed. It's more about enabling. #yqrcc
