Correlation Isn't Causation, But It Makes Profitable Clickbait Tylenol and autism, diet soda and depression, pesticides as bad as smoking: sloppy observational epidemiology drives panic and ignores biology, chemistry, and toxicology.

I recommend reading my recent newsletter on bad observational studies being used as causal evidence:

My feed was FLOODED with absolutely reckless disinformation from @washingtonpost.com today, as usual.

They are one of the worst perpetrators of clickbait chemophobic disinformation.

And yet scream about the threat that is RFK Jr while parroting the exact same lies.

Science says...but my group chat disagrees Even self-proclaimed science supporters have blind spots when misinformation fits their worldview.

And it’s a serious problem.

Because on all sides, we see anti-science legislation and policy being made that undermines data, science, and public health.

EVERY left-leaning media outlet contributes to this—most are instigators.

+ most Dem politicians, especially ones who pass legislation sponsored by groups like EWG.

Selective science denialism crosses ALL ideologies —bc strong opinions replace logic even with those who think they follow data.

You CANNOT call yourself
"pro science" if you support vaccines yet believe and support falsehoods about "chemicals," food ingredients, pesticides/farming, and biotech.

That's cherry-picking.

It’s exactly the same tactic that people you demonize do when it comes to being anti-vaccine.

Cancer misinformation kills. Chemotherapy saves lives. Rejecting evidence-based treatment in favor of false hope and wellness industry lies is deadly.

That’s true for all topics: cancer, infectious diseases, vaccines, nutrition, hormones, “chemicals,” & more.

This — medical conspiracism — is the foundation of the wellness industry’s business model.

They MUST convince people that science-based medicine & credible professionals are villains to get customers for their unproven, ineffective, & dangerous products.

It’s the difference between life & death.

The wellness industry profits by creating distrust of medicine, falsely claiming “real” cancer cures are being hidden so doctors can keep patients sick & poison them with chemotherapy.

They are lying to you. With fatal consequences. While making money.

Correlation DOESN’T equal causation.

That’s especially true when it comes to weak observational data.

Yet every day, people believe poor associations as truthful causation.

We know ice cream doesn’t cause shark attacks, yet throw that logic out the window when it comes to health claims.

Newborn hepatitis B vaccines save lives, prevent cancer, and don't cause autism RFK Jr and his anti-vaccine allies continue to cause preventable illness and death among our most vulnerable.

People who discourage hep B vaccine by claiming it’s for a “sexually transmitted infection” are spreading dangerous lies.

This myth has been debunked for DECADES.

If they still truly believe it, they don’t understand science, as this is a basic fact about this virus.

That’s WHY we have universal newborn vaccine recommendations — we have since 1991.

To save lives. To protect babies. To prevent infections and cancer.

We have decades of data that prove how effective (and safe) the newborn hepatitis B vaccine is.

Don’t you want to protect children from these awful health outcomes?

Hepatitis B virus has a 10-week period where you can be infected and contagious but test negative,

so testing during pregnancy is NOT sufficient.

PLUS, a baby can get infected other ways (see above).

• 90% of infants infected with HBV WILL develop chronic hepatitis.

• 58% of ALL liver cancers are linked to chronic hepatitis.

Newborn hepatitis B vaccine prevents:
• Acute hepatitis B
• Chronic hepatitis
• Cirrhosis and liver failure
• Liver cancer
• Death

HBV is incredibly contagious.

The virus spreads when there is a break in the skin or through mucous membranes (eyes, respiratory tract, vagina, etc).

The virus can survive on inanimate objects and surfaces for 7 days.

3/

30.09.2025 22:04 — 👍 52    🔁 15    💬 2    📌 0

Children get hepatitis B through two main routes:

• Perinatally: newborn is infected during birth. This is also called vertical transmission.

• Direct contact with an infected individual: family members, medical professionals, kids in daycare, etc

NOT sexually.

2/

30.09.2025 22:03 — 👍 56    🔁 13    💬 1    📌 0

Hepatitis B virus is transmitted via infected blood & bodily fluids through:

• Birth
• Unsafe medical practices
• Close contact/living with someone infected
• Sharing personal items
• Piercings, tattoos, needles
• Human bites

It CAN be spread via sexual activity. But it’s not the only way.

Homeopathy is a scam that causes real harm. Not a single homeopathic "medicine" is FDA-approved. These expensive sugar pills have zero science behind them.

There’s a reason there are NO FDA-approved homeopathic products:
because they are NOT effective.

At best, they’re glorified sugar pills.
At worst, they contain dangerous levels of these substances
That’ve killed people, including babies.

(Look up belladonna teething rings)

Influencers are selling homeopathy as Tylenol “alternatives” — it’s NOT.

⚠️Homeopathy is a scam created in 1796 by a German guy with NO plausibility or evidence.

Premise:
1️⃣ what causes a symptom will cure an illness w/the symptom
2️⃣ it’s more potent the more it’s diluted
