I think that's just the light.

2 of the feral colony matriarchs are torties tho (one is mother to some of my cats - a tortie, a black tortie point).

There were roadworks that frightened / scattered the colony, which might be how these guys got stuck in the hole.

Her belly is now solid light grey, w tipped hairs all over her back and sides.

It's such a cool effect 😭 pity if it's a just fever coat / likely to fade.

Oh tortie, interesting. I haven't looked closely at the skin colour under the fur (I have a feral tortie with white for reference - hers is pink and black under the fur)

Ada's paw pads are all black, but her mouth DOES have colour patches - mostly pink, with a black spot of skin in one place.

I thought so too, but the odd thing is that they're tipped. Grey at the base, silver (not clear) tip. I thought fever coat affects the whole hair?

Guess we'll find out when her adult coat grows in!

Does she have POINTS? (Smoke Colourpoint cat of some kind)

She's related to Cappuccino (black tortoiseshell point), then again prob half the cat colony are.

I hope this is a #colorpointcat thing, and won't turn black again later 😭

I sure hope it stays this way too. Very unusual.

- It's not Fever Coat. She was black at 4wks old, and these grew in gradually.

- My Siamese cat grows little speckle hairs after being sick or injured.

But he lurks here all the time, as learned there is often wet food out (for Jasper). Also our garage is full of comfy beds (Jasper).

When locked out of the garage, this guy roams around the house looking for humans to cry pathetically at.

I have updated the Cat-Count: we are KEEPING the KITTENS!

My mother is finally enamored with both, and hey.. I have a ridiculous number of cats already. Whats two more?? 😅

We also have a NEW GARAGE CAT (the black and white guy, who *has* a house, my neighbour adopted him)

Same dog, now turned to face the camera and watching with a soft expression. Her ears are now rotated back, and curled at the tips which looks a bit goofy. Part of her red harness shows beneath her ruff of neck fur, also a tattered gift bow hangs from the right side of the harness back.

Apparently nuthin', nuthin' apparently.

I'm falling down a rabbit hole w this, because Ada-kitten is growing silver tipped hairs all over her body.

- NOT a fever coat, she wasn't born with it

- I doubt something as rare as a roan cat or new mutation

- The feral cat colony has several colourpoint cats, descendants of a Siamese male

(Makes sense - the Siamese 'points' are just colder body parts. Their hair colour is temperature sensitive.

After a fever, new hairs would grow in paler, but can only be seen on the darker parts of her body?)
