This makes sense to me. Trump has long lived within a constructed reality, created to correspond to his self interest and the image he’s wished to project. Vulnerable to manipulation by those close to him who know this.

ICE admits that up to 50% of arrests in its Chicago raids are "collateral.” These aren't statistics. They are parents taken from their children, neighbors taken from our communities. When does a "collateral" U.S. citizen child's trauma matter? This isn't law enforcement; it's a campaign of terror.

This morning, the Trump Administration’s Department of War gave me an ultimatum: call up your troops, or we will. It is absolutely outrageous and un-American to demand a Governor send military troops within our own borders and against our will.

Some times in America we have the exact right President in office to lead in crucial moments (i.e. Lincoln). But at other times we have the exact wrong President in office (i.e. Andrew Johnson). Today we have the worst President in our history in office at a most crucial moment.

It only took 256 days to reach the “zip tying little kids at 2am on the street” stage of this administration.

Now That Fascism is Here... Fascism isn’t coming to America; it’s here.

We cannot let the myth of American exceptionalism numb us into imagining we are above devolving into inhumanity.

We have every ingredient in place to become something historically monstrous.
