Wrongful Autopilot Death Lawsuit Could Weigh on Tesla The trial started on July 14th in a Miami federal court; Tesla settled a 2019 Autopilot death case 7 days before this trial, which has raised eyebrows.

The evidence is so damning that I think Tesla will soon settle out of court.

my understanding is that the plaintiff in this case has already received a settlement from the driver and is therefore more motivated to fight this one out and hold the company accountable

Watch this @Tesla Supervised Robotaxi give up and refuse to take the rider to their destination. The supervisor is forced to take control but when he moves over to the driver’s seat, he can’t get the Tesla to get out of park!

Tesla has been settling a lot of these Autopilot cases over the last year or so, some of which arise from incidents from >5 years ago, for millions of dollars. In many cases they are doing so only after recording seriously damping depositions. They can't keep a lid on this thing forever.

A list of CBS 60 Minutes episodes on Paramount Plus, showing that Season 51 Episode 11, from December 8, 2018, is "unavailable due to expired rights," even though the episodes before and after it are available with a subscription. The missing episode features Elon Musk demonstrating unsafe use of Autopilot.

Looks like @cbsnews.com.web.brid.gy 60 Minutes continues to abandon basic journalistic responsibilities in order to promote and cover for Elon Musk.

The latest example is their removal of a 2018 episode, in which Musk claimed he wasn't driving with Autopilot active (legally he was driving).

Elon’s mom and I are from the same place. Her father moved the family to South Africa roughly one year after apartheid was established because our shared home province wasn’t racist enough.

And Saskatchewan? Yeah, lots of racism. Just not enough for the Haldemans.
