How this year makes me feel so far.

The best books I read this year were by Elizabeth Strout, Rachel Khong, R. F. Kuang, Aimee Nezhukumatathil, Victor LaValle, Erika T. Wurth, Cherie Dimaline, Annie Ernaux, Chuck Wendig, Nana Kwame Adjai-Brenyah, Silvia Moreno-Garcia, and Hua Hsu. Thanks to good writers everywhere!

But nothing was as bleak as Ziggy’s Gift..

First, we saw Family Circus scamp Jeffy Keane praying for a visit from his grandpa’s reanimated corpse…, then holidays on the farm with Garfield (and Jon Arbuckle’s terrifying overgrown-man-child brother, Doc Boy)

My family loves newspaper comics and the recaps of @jfruh.bsky.social — so, we spent yesterday evening watching ‘70s and ‘80s Christmas specials based on some well-known characters...

‘Nuff said. Mr. B Natural is one topic about which we can all readily agree.

Not feeling very festive this year. But…

As an avid collector of tacky and/or terrifying Christmas tree ornaments, I’m especially proud of this Addams Family acquisition. Except it wasn’t where I thought I’d put it, which means it can move on its own. 😬
