Sulu never liked to call much attention to himself in the old days, he preferred to let his record speak for itself. Obviously it worked out for the captain of the Excelsior.

We ran into a lot of stressful situations, I won’t deny that… and I’ll admit that there are times I chose the comfort of having a friend nearby over what might have been a more sensible away team arrangement
