Tuesday 3 PM ET Tornado Watch is in effect for parts of Kansas and Missouri – including Kansas City – until 8PM CT! Gusts to 70mph and a couple of tornadoes are possible in the next few hours.

Did you think spring was cool? Think again… Several sites like Houston & Raleigh had their warmest spring on record (March, April, May), several more had their top 5 warmest. None had coolest or top 5 coolest. These are based on sites with at least 70 years of data (most have more than a century).

8 reported tornadoes, one south of Atlanta has actor Tray Chaney’s son in the ICU. Atlanta back in the threat today and it goes through parts of GA, AL, SC, NC, VA & MD THIS AFTERNOON! Please watch if you live in these states.

Friday’s severe thunderstorm threat focused on northeast texas, most of Arkansas and southeastern Missouri plus southern Illinois.

Potential for intense tornadoes, damaging winds and large hail 2”+ in diameter. Mostly this afternoon through the early overnight.

While tonight’s threat is ongoing FRIDAY there is another chance at strong tornadoes Texarkana through Little Rock.

TORNADO WATCH UPDATE: As of 9 am CT the tornado watch has expanded to include St. Louis down to Little Rock and much of Missouri, this is until 4 PM CT. Please be alert and if a warning is issued, get to shelter immediately.

Seattle smashed its daily record high Tue by 9 deg (73), today daily record high again & then get severe thunderstorms! Tacoma, Portland & Salem, OR included too! golf ball sized hail, winds in excess of 70 mph and isolated tornadoes are all threats this afternoon and tonight!

SIGNIFICANT FLASH FLOOD RISK setting up for southern plains and southern gulf coast of Texas (Corpus Christi):

the last 30 days alone, less than 5% of normal rainfall has fallen across much of southern Texas.

By Thursday night 10-15” of rain could fall for some.

Dallas should get its 1st 90 of the season tomorrow, about a month ahead of average. Other daily record highs possible all the way up to Seattle.

Subzero wind chills possible all the way into north Texas for the midweek!

Northern plains has that chill that can cause frostbite to exposed skin in as little as 5-10 minutes!

Los Angeles had more rain than they’ve had in ~9 months. Next few hours critical for burn scars (#hughesfire) Above 3000 ft snow making mountain passes (I-5, I-15) unsafe. If Phoenix does not get measurable rain , could break all-time longest stretch without,(160 days, 1972).
