I saw a screenshot of what seems to be the internal email. It's the usual hollow bs jargon used in comms towards investors. Ticking all the boxes with catchy (for investors) words and wrapping up with a "btw we're shutting down X studio".

I'd say that first of all it depends a lot on the type of game, but generally I see it in a positive way and at least as a good accessibility feature.

Not really in the mini-maps realm but you just reminded me I crave for more maps like those in Far Cry 2 and (even better) Miasmata.
