Ensorcelled princess page. My favorite one is the moth princess. We also got a half-hearted crystal princess, a princess turned to stone, one is trapped in a book, and one would look a lot cooler if I put real effort into it. Maybe I will later. Gotta have all these glowing runes on her that are extending out with their enchantments wrapping into bindings.

Troll toll. Got a troll paying the sunlight toll for trolls turning to stone, one begging for food at the table, a troll toll coin, and two different demanding trolls idk I got pretty bad in the "I would rather die than think of ideas" phase of things here. I like drawing trolls and goblins though, you get to really exaggerate their features and I love that.

Whelp, due to travel, I fell behind on #drawtober and due to Life catching up had been challenging. (Can you tell how things are going that I'm finding drawings this simple difficult?) But here's days 12-15: Mushroom Fairy.

I'm just complaining that when I went to get new shoes, for some reason, sizes smaller than my usually already small size were what fit. Sure, it means that they actually had my size this way, but whyyy did such a small child's size fit me? What is happening?? I blame the mushroom fairy.

Turns out I've been off a day this whole time because we started on the second. I have no idea what day it is ever I guess.
This one is traditionally drawn because of other ADHD/technology related reasons and also I should draw in sketchbooks more anyway.

Yesterday I tried to lay down strong lines with no sketching. Today I just sketched while limiting how much I used the eraser. I think I did a little better with my hatching this time.

I don't have a lot of time to draw, so I'm keeping it simple. Also Spoopy month seems like a good time to mess around with hatching, a style of shading with which I'm not very familiar.

This is gorgeous

It's just like my friend explaining his excitement for Pacific Rim: "I don't care if the writing is good or not. I want to see giant monster fights."
If the writing IS good, it's incidental to the purpose of the film.
Even when the writing should be good, feelings are stronger factors for enjoyment

Most DBZ fans aren't going to argue the writing is brilliant because people don't watch the show for clever writing. People watch the show for how it makes them feel, because OP nonsense fights feel cool to watch, and the goofiness becomes part of the charm.

... But to my friend, it was a weird, disjointed moment whose timeline didn't make a lot of sense (and the fact that like two people didn't get poisoned?)
I can recognize the flaw now that it's been pointed out to me, but the emotion of the moment when I first experienced it is more important to me

I remember a friend discussing the moment when Kefka poisons Doma in FFVI; it's a really beautifully arranged moment for me, showing his horrible depravity, with the music reflecting how one little action explodes into enormous consequences, a single strain turning into a symphony of disaster...

I think a lot of it is more about how experiencing the story made you feel. When there's jarring holes, those will snag some people and pull them out of the story, but other people will still be caught up in how the story is making them feel despite story issues.
