Solutions for healthier, more sustainable, affordable, and balanced nutrition are already on the table. If Hansen chooses to ignore them, it would be a grave disservice to the health of Europeans.

According to the latest Austrian dietary recommendations, our diet should consist of 50% vegetables and fruits, 25% whole grains and potatoes, and 25% protein from predominantly plant-based sources.

We critisise strongly that Commissioner @christophehansen.bsky.social does not plan to introduce an action plan for plant-based nutrition.

Currently around 80% of agricultural subsidies go to livestock production. BUT: Knowing about health and environmental benefits, EU subsidies must help make plant-based foods accessible and affordable.
