War heute wieder etwas unterwegs. Immerhin drei Stunden mit viel Stehen und Gucken, mehr war nicht drin. Ich sehne mich so sehr nach Bewegung! #MEcfs und Co lassen es nicht zu.

Es tut mir so gut, draußen unterwegs zu sein. Aber es kostet meinen Körper so viel Kraft. Es ist, als bräuchte ich unglaublich viel Kraft, mich aufrecht zu halten. Die Muskeln müssen so irre viel arbeiten. Was für Dreckskrankheiten sind das bloß, verdammte Hacke!

@buechnerronja.bsky.social hat hier einen ganz wichtigen Thread gepostet. Es ist wirklich unglaublich, wie die Community stigmatisiert und abgewertet wird. Anstatt dieses kollektive Wissen und Engagement zu würdigen und auch zu nutzen. #longcovid #me/cfs #stigma

Ich möchte noch was zur (online) Community der #LongCOVID & #ME/CFS Betroffenen sagen.

Natürlich sind sehr viele Betroffene online aktiv, denn das Internet ist einer der wenigen Räume, in denen sie sich noch aufhalten können. Auch die meisten Selbsthilfegruppen finden natürlich online statt.

Gestern hat mich die Bundestagsabgeordnete Ayse Asar (B90/Grüne) besucht, um mit mir über #MEcfs #LongCovid und die häufig damit verbundenen bzw assoziierten Erkrankungen zu sprechen.
Wir haben uns über die Anerkennungs-, Versorgungs- und Forschungssituation ausgetauscht.

Danke, @paulschuberth.bsky.social , dass du dein Kapitel "Gegen den Pandemierevisionismus" mit dem unsäglichen Zitat von Merz aus dem Sommerinterview beginnst. Ich bin bislang wirklich begeistert von eurem Buch.

ME/CFS-Kranke erleben heute, was in zunehmend autoritären Gesellschaften immer mehr Gruppen widerfahren wird: das faktische Vorenthalten von Rechten, ohne dass diese formal abgeschafft sind. Sie existieren auf dem Papier, doch ihre Wahrnehmung ist aufgrund fehlender Voraussetzungen unmöglich. 1/2

Morgen wird im Hessischen Landtag der Antrag "Long COVID- und ME/CFS-betroffene Menschen stärken" im Plenum aufgerufen und debattiert. Der Antrag ist von CDU und SPD.

Samuel suffered from multiple chronic conditions, including severe #MEcfs, #MCAS, #POTS, #hEDS, degenerative disc disease and suspected spinal instability.

Samuel's memorial service was held yesterday.

Ich finde es bezeichnend, dass die SZ für ihre Leserschaft 2014 auch schon vor der Meldung "Siegfried Lenz ist tot" den erklärenden Hinweis "Deutscher Schriftsteller" für erforderlich hielt.

Seitdem wurde irgendwie nichts besser.

I miss life and all the paths it could have taken. Watching my body fade, with only memories to cling to and no future to chase, cuts deep.

More research is urgently needed to investigate the role of connective tissue disorders (CTDs), such as #Marfan syndrome and Ehlers-Danlos syndromes #EDS #hEDS, in the development and severity of #MEcfs to better understand disease mechanisms and improve patient outcomes.

Dysregulated TGF-β signaling in Marfan syndrome can contribute to chronic inflammation or altered immune responses, potentially manifesting as increased susceptibility to infections or autoimmune-like symptoms.

However, emerging research suggests a potential link to immune dysregulation as well, inflammation and TGF-β dysregulation: Fibrillin-1 interacts with the TGF-β signaling pathway, which is crucial for immune regulation.

I don't have #hEDS but #Marfan syndrome and developed #MEcfs two years ago, at the age of 40. Marfan syndrome, caused by mutations in the FBN1 gene affecting fibrillin-1, primarily impacts connective tissue, leading to cardiovascular, skeletal, and ocular issues.
