wip snippet: The grating sound of the zip as he pulls the bag open has long lost its effect to Simon's ears. The heavy, white plastic parts like a giant maw, the teeth of the zip fittingly named as they part with a hiss, revealing Simon's first cadaver of the day. He stands and stares, evaluating with a trained eye and a predatory focus, then starts his dictation. "Specimen is collected at the time of the postmortem examination, and is detailed in the following autopsy protocol. Go to roman numeral one, general appearance. The body is that of a low to moderately-nourished, adult white female who appears the stated age of fifty-one." The silence is absolute as Simon slowly rounds the body, taking note of the colouration of the hands and fingers and the craters in the chest, before coming to a stop next to the head. He lowers to observe the underside of the neck.
