My surgeon gave me a sedative, made sure to keep numbing my eyes throughout the procedure, and then gave me a sleeping pill to take as soon as I got home so I’d sleep through any potential discomfort. My friend’s experience was she didn’t get any of that.

I learned a lot in the process from my surgeon lol. Initially my eyes were really dry so he had me not wear contacts for a month to see if the issue was that or if my eyes are truly dry. My friend did have pain afterwards but comparing our experiences they were completely different.

It was zero pain for me. My advice (and my eye doctor’s recommendation) is to get it done by a corneal specialist. You want someone who will be straight up with you on whether you’re a candidate or not. A lot of times people end up with issues because they shouldn’t have gotten the surgery
