When you discover a new building building you get one of those fancy letters!
It tells you what the building can be used for and shows you which recipes (tasks) the building can perform. Some of them even contain little hints for niche uses!

A small group of common pheasants is chilling on some large rocks in a clearing. Everywhere around them are tall brown reeds. Occasionally a river birch tree stick out.

Look at those pheasants hiding in the reeds. Based on the abundance of them there's sure to be a river nearby!

It's so easy to forget how large the world is. A butterfly might look small when compared to your town but your town, in turn, is much smaller than the forests surrounding it!

A light forest scene. It's a bit like meadows? Green river birch trees are scattered around the landscape. On the right a large oak stands alone surrounded by white flowers. A sheep can be seen in a clearing, enjoying the sun. Around it are scattered leaves on the floor and, a little further down, some red roses are growing around a tree. Barn Swallows can be seen near the top of the picture with some red butterflies flying a little more to the right.

More (small) resources have been added to the light forest biomes over the past few weeks. Check out the fallen leaves and the small butterflies that are now present~

A town hall cart is in the desert. Brown broken up dirt is surrounding the cart with rocks sticking out. Some small green plants can be seen growing ahead of the cart but there is no way you can settle here.

Figuring out where to place your tree in a forest can be a tough task. Especially when you consider the influence of the tree on the surrounding resources!

Here I've placed it in a spot it dislikes - just so I can grow all the garlic that surrounds it (they like the shade!)🌿

I FINALLY caught the honey bees swarming on camera! 📸🐝
It took me forever because it is such a rare event for them to actually swarm!

For them to find a new home they need to have enough honey & there must be a nice tree (somewhat) nearby for them to live in.

We've been slowly sneaking them into the game ^^ They won't be common though! Seeing a fantasy creature will be a super rare occurrence :D

A large mermaid is sitting on a bed of flowers on a small bit of land surrounded by water. It has it's arms spread open and is facing a small hedgehog that is walking towards the mermaid. A careful observer might spot a small skull on a rock behind the mermaid.

It's Mermay! You can find them near the coast either in the water or chilling on land, like this one!

So far my takeaways from the tool are:
- It's super hard to find your game back if your capsule is bad! :c
- It is really effective at showing which screenshots have interesting colours because they're small(er) in a lot of steam's previews

We'll resume our regularly scheduled bird posts tomorrow!

I've almost finished a quick steam store asset preview tool in #godot. Would any other #indiedev be interested in a tool like that?
It sneaks your game into a random other game's location. You can upload screenshots to randomize increase variation too.

We're upgrading our research!
You can now hover over individual resources rather than selecting the entire cluster of resources. This doesn't change anything about the research mechanic but it feels a lot better in-game!

Also, the bugs while working on this were quite something ^^'
