The Covid mRNA vaccines are, singly, the most important medical advance of my lifetime. It's incredibly sad that we may look back at 2022 as the apex year for American medical research and development.

Canadian troops won’t be joining European military force in Greenland Small numbers of troops from European countries β€” including Denmark, France, Germany, Sweden, Norway and Britain β€” are being deployed to the Arctic island.

This is not a good move. If Greenland falls, Canada is next. Canada needs to stand with Europe so that if the time comes, they will stand with us.

Why are famous chefs fighting PFAS bans? The answer, in retrospect, is obviousβ€”and it’s part of a larger campaign to stop bans on Teflon cookware nationwide.

Celebrity chefs told Californians that PFAS-coated pans were β€œsafe,” and successfully lobbied Gavin Newsom to veto a bill phasing them out

They didn’t mention they all sell PFAS-coated pans.

New joint investigation with @mirandagreen.bsky.social and @atmosmag.bsky.social is out:

Pipeline to Nowhere Prime Minister Mark Carney’s success in his first year has been to successfully convey an image of being the β€œsmartest guy in the room.”

There is no political, economic or environmental case for even pretending to consider Northern Gateway pipeline.
Mark Carney has given a huge with to Danielle Smith while reviving the environmental conflicts of Stephen Harper.
This is a huge mistake.
My latest.

I work in the building trades in BC. I work on O&G projects, pipelines, LNG plants, and in refineries. It pays my bills, provides for my family, and allows us to live a decent life.

Even I don't want another goddamn oil pipeline.

Danielle Smith just suckered Mark Carney into reviving the Northern Gateway pipeline.
This is the antithesis of "nation-building."
There is no economic, political or environmental case for Stephen Harper's dream.
This won't end well.
For Canada or Carney.

Carney didn't help auto by offering to build Keystone XL.
Trump remains focused on destroying our auto sector.
Carney isn't placating a "growing" Alberta-BC rift.
Danielle Smith set up a non-existent fight.
Keystone XL doesn't "suck" for the US environment - it is a planet carbon bomb.

If you’re like most Canadians, you don’t know that all of your parcels get delivered by Canada Post if you live in rural Canada. The big couriers don’t go there. They drop them off at the post office and letter carriers take them the rest of the way. Ending home delivery cuts them off.

Save the County by Burning the Planet Canada's False National "Unity" Debate

Canada is on fire.
The national media is focused on building pipelines for national unity.
Oil production is at record levels.
We are back of the pack in the G7 for failing all our environmental goals.
My latest on Canada's oil obsession.

Ottawa tells chiefs to submit questions before meeting with PM on… National Newswatch: Canada's most comprehensive site for political news and views.

Prime Minister Carney pushed through a mega bill without providing First Nation leaders time to read the full text.
Now he insists that they write their questions in advance before meeting with them.

a point I make over and over re: climate change is that there’s no point at which it’s time to throw up your hands and give up, because each tenth of a degree you can prevent is worth it

2C is better than 2.1C is better than 2.2C and so on and so forth

Mark Carney caves to Trump and the tech industry Canada’s decision to rescind its digital services tax shows it’s β€œelbows down” in US trade talks

Mark Carney’s decision to rescind Canada’s digital services tax is a cowardly move that shows Trump he can be pressured into making trade concessions.

It also shows how much Carney is willing to give into corporate demands, and particular those of the tech industry.

Canadian politicians are actively discussing increased oil production & more pipelines which will ensure that wildfires & other effects will get worse. Global warming WILL reach 1.5C by 2030, 2C by 2050 & a minimum of 3C by 2100. More oil will ensure steadily increasing global warming. πŸ™
