Future Expat departing next week

Cancelled after the deluge of outrages. First thing I did after moving to dc was subscribe to the great Washington Post 35 years ago, right after Meg Greenfield ran an op-ed I wrote, of which I was so proud. I still read the online headlines to remind myself of why I no longer subscribe.

It matters not a bit if people call it something or not. It is fascism and it is dictatorship and failing to name it changes nothing. This ends very badly and not soon

Wrong tense

The piece you are missing is that it does not matter if his successor is popular. Support only matters in a democracy. There will be no more fair elections and they hold all the levers of power and violence. All will be done in the name of the martyred god when he dies.

Or in 2026. We will have armed men in blue cities, extreme gerrymandering and voter suppression, and outright fraud if they still lose a house seat or two. Real elections are over.

I know coasties and they will be horrified. How to demolish our military.

That is Bethesda all right. I live here, for the moment. Glad to have raised our kid here. Glad to be leaving the USA.

Nauseating. I served on a kencen board. I was a local elected official in dc who actually did improve public safety in my community. And I cannot wait to get out of the country.

No duh. You don’t buy the government and commit crimes expecting to give up power or be held accountable by it. There will be no more elections.
