The Lightning (5-4-2) extended their streak to four games with a 2–1 overtime victory, snapping the Stars’ (6-3-2) three-game run in the process. Andrei Vasilevskiy earned his third straight win, stopping 20 of 21 shots. Despite taking the loss, Jake Oettinger was outstanding at the other end, turning aside 30 of 32 shots.

Iowa Heartlanders Acquire Isaac Johnson for ECHL Contract The Iowa Heartlanders announced today that they have acquired the playing rights to forward Isaac Johnson from the Tahoe Knight Monsters in exchange for a player to be named later. Following the acquisition, the Heartlanders signed Johnson for the 2025-26 season. The 26-year-old forward brings valuable experience to the lineup, having played five professional seasons between the ECHL and the American Hockey League (AHL).

Iowa Heartlanders’ 2025 Signings: Giannuzzi, Noel, & New Additions On Aug. 14, the Iowa Heartlanders announced they have re-signed goaltender Dante Giannuzzi and forward Nathan Noel, while adding defenseman Jacob Arsenault. The team also signed forward Hunter Bracket to a player try-out contract. Dante Giannuzzi At 22, Giannuzzi is looking to plant roots in Iowa. The former Portland Winterhawks standout spent three seasons in the WHL before making the leap to the pros in 2023-24.

Marritt becomes the first player officially signed by the Knight Monsters for the upcoming campaign. A native of Kelowna, British Columbia, Marritt developed his game with the Kelowna Jr. Rockets and Okanagan Prep before moving on to the Vernon Vipers of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL), where he spent three full seasons.
