Das ist mir zu allgemein. Weshalb gibt es die Gesundheitspruefung vor der Verbeamtung, wenn nicht zu dem Zweck das Risiko von Vorerkrankungen zu minimieren?

Ich denke nicht, dass es etwas bringt, an das Mitgefuehl der allgemeinen Bevoelkerung zu appellieren. Solidaritaet ist heute ein Fremdwort. Das sage ich als GEW Mitglied. Mal sehen wer bzw. wieviele kommenden Donnerstag vor dem NRW Landtag demonstrieren.

Nun, wenn ich (Wissenschafts-)Politiker waere und bei der HRK ein- und ausginge, dann waeren diese Geschichten genau das passende Material, um GEGEN weitere Entfristungen zu argumentieren. Nicht umsonst gibt es eine Altersgrenze fuer Verbeamtungen.

Surprises me that Finland and Germany rank the same. Factor in immigration/emigration patterns. Germany might be "younger" due to young Eastern Europeans having moved in, while their countries have "aged". Also, contrast biological age with "mental age": I rank Finns as "younger" than Germans.

It taught me never again to easily dismiss psychosomatic symptoms. My advice: talk to a professional to document the issue and your line manager to find a solution that prevents future attacks.

During my time as senior lecturer at UEA I had severe temporomandibular dysfunction too. Became quite painful over a couple of months. The symptoms disappeared immediately the day after I had tendered my resignation (what a clusterfuck of an organization it had been).

I am saying 'No thank you' most of the time now and accept review invitations only when the abstract promises something really interesting. In addition, I tend to ignore the 'reminders': the review is done, when it is done. I don't give a penny regarding a journal's editorial decision stats.

My experience is that german universities are not very good re onboarding of new staff members. Expect token gestures but no onboarding programme. It is considered your supervisor's responsibility, not the HR department's.

Not sure what advice to give healthwise. Don't worry. It will be alright. Still, the first bureaucratic hoop to jump through is the registration of your residency at your local town hall: prompt 'how to register residency in Germany'. The residency certificate is important. Do not delay.

Ist aus der Kategorie saudaemmlicher Fragen, da man als Bewerber_in ja nicht vor der Einstellung und Einarbeitung weiss wie a.) das Unternehmen tickt und b.) welchen Job mal letztlich macht. Personaler und auch Auswahlkommissionen sind das "Aushaengeschild" ihrer Unternehmen. Naming and shaming...

Spricht etwas dagegen, das Unternehmen zu nennen, damit wir uns nicht zufaellig auch dort bewerben? Obwohl es sehr bitter fuer das Unternehmen waere, wenn diese Rueckmeldung die tatsaechlichen Kriterien der internen Kandidatenauswahl ausdrueckte: entweder schlechte Firma oder dummer Personaler.
